Charlene M. Harvey Scroggy went to be with her Lord on Saturday, April 6, 2013 at the age of 73. Her husband, Gene A. Scroggy, survives. She was born May 1, 1939 in Wilmington, Ohio, daughter of the late Clarence and Doris Harvey. She graduated from Adams Township School in 1958 and the Columbus School of Business in 1960.
She married the love of her life, Gene A. Scroggy, on February 11, 1961. They were married for 52 beautiful years. God blessed them with three children, Carrie (Randy) Michaelis of Victoria, Texas, Gilbert (Robyn Nakoff) Scroggy of Clarksville, Ohio, and Mozelle (Doug) Stahl of Ebensburg, Pennsylvania. She is also survived by seven grandchildren and five great grandchildren. In addition to her parents, a brother, Neil Harvey, is preceded in death.
Charlene loved to travel with Gene. They were a career military family that was fortunate to live all over the United States as well as North Africa. In her later years they spent half their time in Ebensburg, Pennsylvania and half in Victoria, Texas.
She loved her family and enjoyed watching it grow. She was known as Mimi to all her grandchildren. She loved baking cookies and having tea parties with her granddaughters. She could be seen cheering on her grandchildren at their sporting events. She was a member of the NOMADS and the Ebensburg United Methodist Church ladies group.
Funeral services will be 11:00 AM, Friday, April 12, 2013 at the Springfield Friends Meeting, Todd’s Fork Road, Wilmington, Ohio with Mike and Nancy McCormick officiating. Burial will be in Springfield Friends Cemetery. Friends may call from 6:00 PM – 8:00 PM, Thursday, April 11, 2013 at the Reynolds-Smith Funeral Home, 327 N. South Street, Wilmington, Ohio and from 10:00 AM – 11:00 AM, Friday, April 12, 2013 at the Springfield Friends Meeting.
