Charles David Salisbury, 69, of Wilmington, Ohio died Wednesday, October 30, 2013 at his residence. His wife, Susan Salisbury, survives. They were married June 14, 2003. Mr. Salisbury was born October 3, 1944 in Rainsboro, Ohio, son of the late Leon and Esther Jane Cook Salisbury. He was a graduate of Simon Kenton High School. He received his bachelor’s degree from Morehead State University.
Mr. Salisbury retired from FmHA. He attended Fellowship of Praise Church near Clarksville, Ohio.
In addition to his wife, Mr. Salisbury is survived by a daughter, Melissa Ann Whittenburg of Wilmington, Ohio; a son, Charles Bradley (Jennifer) Salisbury of Stanton, Kentucky; two stepsons, Darin (Holly) Franks of Whiteland, Indiana and Jonathan Franks of Lexington, Ohio; four brothers, Robert Leon (Betty) Salisbury of Batavia, Ohio, Thomas Eugene (Emily) Salisbury of Waxhaw, North Carolina, John Frederick (Catholyn “Giz”) Salisbury of Pataskala, Ohio, and Ronald Dean (Kathy) Salisbury of West Union, Ohio; a sister, Carol Ann Webster of Cincinnati, Ohio; eight grandchildren, Jack Whittenburg, Gabby Whittenburg, Brady Salisbury, Lauren Salisbury, Jillian Hummelgard, Christian Franks, Rebecca Franks, and Caitlin Franks; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.
A celebration of Mr. Salisbury’s life will be held 12:00 Noon, Monday, November 4, 2013 at the Fellowship of Praise Church, 8625 U.S. 22, Clarksville, Ohio. Friends may call from 3:00 PM – 7:00 PM, Sunday, November 3, 2013 at the L. Eugene Smith & Son Funeral Home, 64 S. South Street, New Vienna, Ohio. A graveside service will be held at the convenience of the family at Pleasant Hill Cemetery, Leesburg, Ohio.
