Edwin A. Pyle, 99, of Martinsville, Ohio died 10:05 AM, Sunday, January 15, 2012 at his residence. His wife, Mafia Manker Pyle, preceded him in death March 12, 1988. They were married October 21, 1933. Mr. Pyle was born September 17, 1912 in Clinton County, Ohio, son of the late Earl and Mildred Hootin Pyle. He was a graduate of Adams Township School.
Mr. Pyle was a lifelong farmer. He was a charter member of the Clinton County Farmers and Sportsmen’s Association, a past Republican Central Committee Chairman, a longtime Clinton County Fair Board member, and a member of the Clinton County Farm Bureau. He was also an avid hunter, fisherman, and Cincinnati Reds fan.
Mr. Pyle is survived by a daughter, Sandra L. Voss of Wilmington, Ohio; a son, Robert E. (Gail) Pyle of Martinsville, Ohio; five grandchildren, Robert A. Voss, Susan (Mark) Smith, Leslie (Eric) Nieder, Mark E. (Tina) Pyle, and Michael L. (Sarah) Pyle; five great grandchildren, Brent (Amanda) Lawson, Stephanie (Nicolas Parr) Smith, Brittany Smith, Angela C. Davis-Nieder, and Mackenzie Pyle; and a great-great grandchild, Brody Parr. In addition to his wife and parents, four brothers, Myron Pyle, Maynard Pyle, Frank Pyle, and Henry Pyle, are preceded in death.
Funeral services will be 2:00 PM, Friday, January 20, 2012 at the Reynolds-Smith Funeral Home, 327 N. South Street, Wilmington, Ohio with Tim Wallace officiating. Burial will be in Sugar Grove Cemetery. Friends may call from 11:00 AM – 2:00 PM, Friday, January 20, 2012 at the Reynolds-Smith Funeral Home.
