George William “Bill” Clark, 85, of Wilmington, Ohio passed away December 3, 2011 at Continental Manor, Blanchester, Ohio. His wife of 50 years, Joyce R. Clark, survives. Mr. Clark was born in Portsmouth, Ohio in 1926. He entered the Air Force at age 17.
After attending Ohio University in Portsmouth; he joined General Telephone, and was later promoted to a management position. He retired in 1985 after a 36-year career with GTE. Bill was an active member of the Wilmington Lions Club and the B.P.O. Elks #797. He was an avid golfer and a fan of Ohio State athletics and the OSU Band.
In addition to his wife, Mr. Clark is survived by sons, Brad (Darcy) Reynolds of Mount Airy, Maryland and David (Jean) Clark of Westerville, Ohio; and eight grandchildren.
A graveside service will be held at the convenience of the family at Sugar Grove Cemetery. A celebration of Bill’s life will be held from 2:00 PM – 4:00 PM, Sunday, December 11, 2011 in the Fellowship Hall of the First Christian Church – Disciples of Christ, 120 Columbus Street, Wilmington, Ohio.
