Hannah Jean Salyers Hidy, 78, formerly of Wilmington, Ohio died 11:40 AM, Saturday, September 1, 2012 at Mount Pleasant Retirement Village, Monroe, Ohio. She was born November 26, 1933 in Greenup County, Kentucky, daughter of the late Preston and Irene Hensley Salyers. She was a 1952 graduate of Washington Court House High School.
Ms. Hidy was a longtime hairdresser. She had owned and operated Hannah’s Hairdressers. She later worked at and retired from New Pauline’s Beauty Shop. She enjoyed playing golf and was a member of the Elks in Wilmington.
She is survived by two sons, Rick Haines of St. Louis, Missouri and Victor (Lisa) Haines of Wilmington, Ohio; a daughter, Mikki (Gary) Fassler of West Chester, Ohio; a brother, George “Buddy” (Marilyn) Salyers of Washington Court House, Ohio; two sisters, Wilma Salyers (Buell) McBrayer of Wilmington, Ohio and Audrey Salyers Holdren of Westerville, Ohio; two grandchildren, Susannah Haines and Kelli Haines Delligan; several nieces, nephews, great nieces, and great nephews; and many friends. In addition to her parents, a brother-in-law, Gene Holdren, is preceded in death.
Funeral services will be 11:00 AM, Saturday, September 8, 2012 at Reynolds-Smith Funeral Home, 327 N. South Street, Wilmington, Ohio with Pastor Daniel Justice officiating. Burial will be in Sugar Grove Cemetery. Friends may call from 5:00 PM – 8:00 PM, Friday, September 7, 2012 at the Reynolds-Smith Funeral Home. An Elks service will be held at 7:30 PM on Friday evening.
