IRENE LEDFORD

Irene Ledford, 97, formerly of Martinsville, Ohio died 4:26 AM, Friday, August 16, 2013 at Autumn Years Nursing Center. Her husband, Hubert "Herb" Ledford, preceded her in death. They were married March 4, 1936. Mrs. Ledford was born July 13, 1916 in Martinsville, Ohio, daughter of the late Richard Kennie Allen and Maude Allen. She was a graduate of Jefferson High School. Mrs. Ledford was a former employee of the Wilmington Publishing Company and O.K.T. She was a member of the Martinsville United Methodist Church, the Martinsville Order of the Eastern Star, the Clinton County Quilt Club, and the Clinton County Corn Festival Committee. Mrs. Ledford is survived by a son, Charles (Thelma) Ledford; a daughter, Wanda Damiano; a daughter-in-law, Barbara Ledford; a sister, Agnes Cummings; a sister-in-law, Lois Allen; seven grandchildren; 14 great grandchildren; and 10 great-great grandchildren. In addition to her husband and parents, a son, Gordon Ledford, a son-in-law, John Damiano, a brother, Richard Allen, a brother-in-law, Gaylord Cummings, and a great grandchild, are preceded in death. A Graveside service will be held at the convenience of the family at the Martinsville I.O.O.F. Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial contributions be made to the Martinsville United Methodist Church, 129 E. Main Street, Martinsville, Ohio 45146 or to Community Care Hospice, P.O. Box 123, Wilmington, Ohio 45177.
