JANE RUNYON

Jane Runyon, 85, of Wilmington, Ohio passed away Thursday, May 11, 2017 at Wilmington Nursing and Rehabilitation Center. Jane was born January 20, 1932 in Mt. Orab, Ohio, the daughter of the late Samuel Shaffer and Hazel Perkins Shaffer. She was a cook and homemaker; she cooked many years for the Little Giant Restaurant in Wilmington. She was a member of the Wilmington Church of Christ. She loved the Cincinnati Reds. She will be loved and missed by all. Jane is survived by three sons, James Gunther, David (Heather) Hertenstein, and Charles (Angie) Tucker; five daughters, Linda Dennis, Judy (Ronald) Shidaker, Kathy Gray, Linda (Mikel) Nicholas, and Amy Collier; two sisters, Elizabeth and Rebecca; 18 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by two brothers, Bob and Bill; as well as two sisters, Nellie and Mabel. The family wishes to thank the staff at Wilmington Nursing and Rehabilitation Center for the wonderful care given to Jane. A graveside service will be held 1:45 PM, Tuesday, May 16, 2017 at Sugar Grove Cemetery, Wilmington, Ohio with Minister Dale McCamish officiating. Friends may call from 11:30 AM - 1:30 PM, Tuesday, May 16, 2017 at the Reynolds-Smith Funeral Home, 327 N. South St., Wilmington, Ohio.
