Joan L. Sanfrey, 77, of New Vienna, Ohio went to be with the Lord peacefully, Friday, August 19, 2011 at her home. Her husband, Robert A. Sanfrey, preceded her in death in 1988. They were married June 28, 1953. Mrs. Sanfrey was born November 5, 1933 in Clinton County, Ohio, daughter of the late Hank and Hazel Collins LaChance. She was a graduate of Wilmington High School and a member of St. Columbkille Catholic Church. Joan leaves a wonderful legacy of love. She dearly loved all of her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren, and they all dearly loved her.
Mrs. Sanfrey is survived by three sons, Larry (Ruthann) Sanfrey of Warren, Ohio, Keith (Michelle) Sanfrey of Sabina, Ohio, and Arthur Sanfrey of New Vienna, Ohio; four daughters, Christine Sanfrey Stevenson of Wilmington, Ohio, Debbie (Tim) Burlile of Midland, Ohio, Barbara (Bobby) Presley of London, Ohio, and Karen (Tony) Sholler of Sabina, Ohio; a sister, Virginia Brown of Wilmington, Ohio; 17 grandchildren; 13 great grandchildren; her special caregiver, Martha Zimmerman; and home care nurse, Sheila Hayslip; and a much loved family of friends and neighbors at Appletree Apartments. In addition to her husband and parents, two brothers, Raymond LaChance and Hank LaChance, a grandson, Gregory Chad Gray, a great granddaughter, Bella Campell, and a brother-in-law, Bob Brown, are preceded in death.
Funeral services will be 11:00 AM, Tuesday, August 23, 2011 at the Reynolds-Smith Funeral Home, 327 N. South Street, Wilmington, Ohio with Deacon Robert G. Baker officiating. Burial will be in Sugar Grove Cemetery. Friends may call from 5:00 PM – 8:00 PM, Monday, August 22, 2011 at the Reynolds-Smith Funeral Home.
