MARILYN RAIZK Obituary

Marilyn Raizk died peacefully at her home in Jonesboro, Louisiana on Sunday, March 15. Her husband, Alex Raizk, to whom she was married for 58 years, preceded her in death. She was the daughter of the late Fritzi and Herbert Huntsberry. She was a graduate of Villa Maria High School in Villa Maria, PA and Cleveland College in Cleveland, Ohio. During W.W. II, Marilyn became a member of the American Red Cross and served in the Pacific Theater. It was during this time that she met her future husband, Alex, in Japan. After marrying, they moved to Wilmington in 1948. Mrs. Raizk was a founding member of Faith Lutheran Church where she did the annual Christmas decorations and sang in the choir. She was the first president of the Wilmington Jaycettes, past president of Garden Club, a member of the Order of the Eastern Star, and Beta Sigma Phi. She also played in several bridge clubs. Marilyn was the proud mother of Jan (Glenn) Barnes and Robert (Patricia) Raizk. She has four grandchildren, Brandi (Keith) Davis of Buford, GA, Erin (Tim) Lincoln of New Orleans, LA, RJ Raizk of New York City, and Taylor Raizk of Los Angeles. There is one great grandchild, Riley Davis also of Buford, GA. In addition to her husband and parents, Mrs. Raizk was preceded in death by a brother, Robert W. Fortey. Funeral services will be 10:00 AM, Saturday, March 21, 2015 at the Faith Lutheran Church, 421 E. Vine Street, Wilmington, Ohio. Burial will be in Sugar Grove Cemetery. Friends may call from 6:00 PM - 8:00 PM, Friday, March 20, 2015 at the Reynolds-Smith Funeral Home, 327 N. South St., Wilmington, Ohio.
