Marlin J. North, 79, of Wilmington, Ohio died 5:32 PM, Monday, December 23, 2013 at Miami Valley Hospital, Dayton, Ohio. His wife, of 56 years, Ann North, survives. They were married September 21, 1957. Mr. North was born May 26, 1934 in Dayton, Ohio, son of the late Forrest and Hazel Garrison North. He was a staff sergeant in the U.S. Air Force during the Korean War.
Mr. North was a technical engineer supervisor at Wright Patterson Air Force Base for 37 years. He was a life member of the Ohio Gun Collectors Association and a life member of the Ohio Camera Collectors Association.
In addition to his wife, Mr. North is survived by a son, Todd (Carolyn) North of Vandalia, Ohio; a daughter, Dawn Gibson of Springboro, Ohio; two brothers, Gary (Rebecca) North of Jamestown, Ohio and Rex (Charlotte) North of Conover, Ohio; a brother-in-law, James (Susie) Nordyke of Dayton, Ohio; four grandchildren, Lea North, Jacob North, Kirsten Gibson, and Hunter Gibson; as well as many special friends.
In addition to his parents, a son, Mark North, and a niece, Darcy North, are preceded in death.
The family would especially like to thank the Miami Valley Hospital I.C. Unit and the Quaker Heights Care Community for all of the excellent care that Mr. North received.
A memorial service will be held 12:00 Noon, Saturday, January 11, 2014 at the Reynolds-Smith Funeral Home, 327 N. South Street, Wilmington, Ohio with Rev. Dr. Tom Stephenson officiating. Friends may call from 10:00 AM – 12:00 PM, Saturday, January 11, 2014 at the Reynolds-Smith Funeral Home.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial contributions be made to a charity of the donor’s choice.
