Mary Lois Cox, 87, of Sabina, Ohio died 5:25 AM, Monday, June 18, 2012 at Autumn Years Nursing Center. Her husband, Chester M. Cox, preceded her in death December 8, 1988. They were married July 31, 1945. She was born November 15, 1924 in Mount Pulaski, Illinois, daughter of the late Roy and Sarah Ellen Britton Green.
Mrs. Cox was a homemaker and had also worked as a waitress. She was a member of the New Vienna United Methodist Church, the American Legion Auxiliary, the Red Hat Society, and the Daughters of America.
She is survived by a son, Thomas R. (Leesa) Cox of Sabina, Ohio; a stepbrother, Richard (Linda) Truman of Lynchburg, Ohio; four grandchildren, Tina (Darren) Brown of Clarksville, Ohio, Dawn (Chris) Shumaker of Wilmington, Ohio, Melissa (Brian) Dilley of Reynoldsburg, Ohio, and Monica Cox of Manchester, Connecticut; and four great grandchildren, Kelsey Brown, Taylor Shumaker, Katlyn Shumaker, and Dalton Dilley. In addition to her husband and parents, a son, Robert L. Cox, a sister, Betty June Green, and a stepbrother, David Truman, are preceded in death.
Funeral services will be 2:00 PM, Thursday, June 21, 2012 at the Reynolds-Smith Funeral Home, 327 N. South Street, Wilmington, Ohio. Burial will be in Cowan Creek Cemetery. Friends may call from 12:00 Noon – 2:00 PM, Thursday, June 21, 2012 at the Reynolds-Smith Funeral Home.
