Norma Marilyn Reedy, 84, of Clarksville, Ohio died 9:10 AM, Sunday, December 1, 2013 at Pine Ridge Nursing & Rehabilitation, Morrow, Ohio. Her husband, Oscar Ray Reedy, preceded her in death June 4, 1996. Mrs. Reedy was born September 8, 1929 in Lewis County, Kentucky, daughter of the late Creed Bently and Gladys Carver Bently Kennedy.
Mrs. Reedy and her husband had owned and operated Reedy’s Grocery in Lewis County, Kentucky. She had also worked at Buy Right Discount and Farquhar’s Grocery in Wilmington. Most importantly, though, she was a wife, mother, and grandmother. She was a member of Bible Baptist Church of Wilmington and had been active in the D.A.V.
Mrs. Reedy is survived by her daughters, Connie (Steve) Barber of Clarksville, Ohio, Brenda (Dennis) Singleton of Clarksville, Ohio, Diana Davis of Wilmington, Ohio, Rayetta (Michael) Clutter of Clarksville, Ohio, and Donna (Bill) Smith of Leesburg, Ohio; three brothers, Gene Kenney of Arkansas, Glenn Kennedy of Indiana, and Phil Kennedy of Kentucky; four sisters, Eldene Spriggs of Florida, Pauline Kennedy of Cincinnati, Ohio, Judy Christian of Columbus, Ohio, and Mary Lou Kennedy of Kentucky; 10 grandchildren, Travis Thompson, Jordan Barber, Kalli (John Allen) Singleton, Kelsey Singleton, Tyler (Summer Bauer) Davis, Aaron (Laura) Clutter, Be’la Clutter, Wes Clutter, Vincent Freeman, and Meri Jane Freeman; and 11 great grandchildren. In addition to her husband and parents, three brothers, Jack Bently, Beecher Bently, and Fred Bently, and a sister, Hazel Overstreet, are preceded in death.
Graveside services will be 2:30 PM, Thursday, December 5, 2013 at Clarksville Cemetery with Pastor Kelly D. McInerney officiating. Friends may call from 12:00 Noon – 2:00 PM, Thursday, December 5, 2013 at the Reynolds-Smith Funeral Home, 327 N. South Street, Wilmington, Ohio.
