Roger Patrick Dolphin, 89, of Wilmington passed away Friday, March 2, 2018 at Wilmington Nursing & Rehabilitation Residence. Mr. Dolphin was born April 17, 1928 in Wilmington, Ohio, son of the late Paul and Ruth Cadwallader Dolphin. He was a graduate of Wilmington High School and served in the United States Marine Corp.
Throughout his career, Mr. Dolphin worked various jobs. While still in school he delivered milk. After serving in the military, he worked at Wright Patterson A.F.B. He also sold Electrolux sweepers and worked at the Wilmington Post Office. Later in life, he worked as a handyman for various businesses around Wilmington. He was a member of the American Legion in Washington C.H.
Mr. Dolphin is survived by a son, Brien (Arloa) Dolphin of South Carolina; two sisters, Virginia Dolphin Craig of Wilmington, Ohio and Shirley Dolphin of Florida; a granddaughter, Christina (Chris Reed) Dolphin; and several nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, three brothers, Richard Dolphin, Ronald Dolphin, and Paul Ervin Dolphin, and two sisters, Lois Bahns and Ruthann Dolphin, are preceded in death.
Funeral services will be 12:00 Noon, Monday, March 5, 2018 at Reynolds-Smith Funeral Home, 327 N. South Street, Wilmington, Ohio. Burial will be in Hamer Township Cemetery. Friends may call from 10:00 AM – 12:00 Noon, Monday, March 5, 2018 at Reynolds-Smith Funeral Home.
