Roy W. Wooddell, 76, of Blanchester, Ohio died 1:18 AM, Friday, April 27, 2012 at Salyer Group Home, Hillsboro, Ohio. His wife, Carol Morris Wooddell, survives. They were married October 19, 1957. Mr. Wooddell was born November 2, 1935 in Clarksville, Ohio, son of the late G. Ivan Wooddell and Pauline Culberson Wooddell.
Mr. Wooddell retired from Airborne Express after 21 years. He was a former mayor of Martinsville, Ohio and had also served as the head of Martinsville Council. He was an avid outdoorsman who enjoyed fishing. He loved to spend time with his grandchildren. He served as an Air Tech for 6 years in the Army National Guard and for 3 years in the Air National Guard.
In addition to his wife, Mr. Wooddell is survived by two sons, Michael (Connie) Wooddell of Martinsville, Ohio and Daren (Tamara) Wooddell of Blanchester, Ohio; a daughter, Tamara (Jim) Frazier of Blanchester, Ohio; a sister, Janet (John) Buss of Newcomerstown, Ohio; and five grandchildren, Renee Wooddell, Brian Wooddell, Eric Wooddell, Zachery Frazier, and Brooklyn Frazier. In addition to his parents, a brother, Robert Wooddell, is preceded in death.
Funeral services will be 10:00 AM, Tuesday, May 1, 2012 at the Reynolds-Smith Funeral Home, 327 N. South Street, Wilmington, Ohio with Timothy Wallace officiating. Interment will be in Clinton County Memory Gardens. Friends may call from 5:00 PM – 8:00 PM, Monday, April 30, 2012 at the Reynolds-Smith Funeral Home, 327 N. South Street, Wilmington, Ohio.
