Rudy E. Haag, 80, of Cuba, Ohio died 5:50 AM, Friday, November 4, 2011 at his residence. His wife, Marilyn Jordan Haag, survives. He was born May 3, 1931 in Cincinnati, Ohio, son of the late Ferdinand Leo Haag and Nora Julian Haag.
Rudy was a devoted son, brother, husband, father, grandfather, and great grandfather. Rudy started farming with his father in Clermont County after graduating from Milford High School. He married his childhood sweetheart May 3, 1950. In the spring of 1956 he moved his family to the farm on Cuba Road. Here, they raised their four children and had a milking herd of registered Guernsey cattle. Later, the family showed cattle at county and state fairs. He served Washington Township as a trustee. He also served as a director for the Clinton Soil and Water Conservation District. Rudy was a member of the Cuba Friends Meeting and served in many capacities before being called in 1987 to pastor for 11 years. He was also active in the Wilmington Yearly Meeting serving as clerk of both Ministry & Council and Yearly Meeting. He served as Executive Secretary from 1996 until 2001. He loved being at Quaker Knoll and working on projects as long as his health allowed. He also loved going around the farm on his golf cart to see how the crops were doing and looking for quail, turkeys, and deer.
Rudy loved Jesus and kept His word that was sent from the Lord. He has learned from the Holy Spirit, which was sent to him from his Heavenly Father. He has received that gift of peace that only God can give. His pain, anxiety, and depression have gone away and he is happy walking close with Jesus. He is living in peace.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by two sons, Rudolf Douglas (Vanessa) Haag of Cuba, Ohio and Dennis Lee (Regina) Haag of South Glens Falls, New York; a daughter, Linda Jean (Mitch) Ostermeier of Milford, Ohio; a daughter-in-law, Robin Haag of Goshen, Indiana; a sister, Betty Elaine Elliott of Maineville, Ohio; his sister-in-law, Mary Dakel; two cousins, Jack Haag and Doris Haag; seven grandchildren; and 11 great grandchildren.
