STELLA ALDRICH

Stella Aldrich, 100, of Wilmington, Ohio died 4:15 AM, Sunday, May 8, 2011 at Clinton Memorial Hospital. Her husband, Richard Aldrich, preceded her in death in 1971. Mrs. Aldrich was born August 23, 1910 in Jamestown, Ohio, the second of 10 children of the late George and Lucy Bush Slayton. She was raised on a dairy farm. She met Richard Aldrich in 1925. After their marriage October 30, 1926 they made their home in Springfield, Ohio. Their son, Paul, was born in 1928. During the depression years, Stella worked at Colliers Magazine until it went out of business in 1970. From 1972 - 1981, she worked as a nurse's aide doing elderly home care. Mrs. Aldrich is survived by a son, Paul (Betty) Aldrich of Wilmington, Delaware; a sister, Clara (Al) King of Elyria, Ohio; two grandsons, Craig W. Aldrich of Wilmington, Delaware and Mark C. (Julie) Aldrich of Otsego, Michigan; a beloved great grandson, Luke W. Aldrich of Otsego, Michigan; and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be 11:00 AM, Friday, May 13, 2011 at the Reynolds-Smith Funeral Home, 327 N. South Street, Wilmington, Ohio. Burial will be in Newcomers Cemetery, Springfield, Ohio. Friends may call from 10:00 AM - 11:00 AM, Friday, May 13, 2011 at the Reynolds-Smith Funeral Home.
