Thomas H. Gauden Sr., 77, of Wilmington, Ohio passed away Friday, March 23, 2018 at Clinton Memorial Hospital. He was born June 5, 1940 in Deemston, Pennsylvania, son of the late James E. Gauden Sr. and Minnie A. Hakin Gauden. He was a graduate of Bethlehem Center High School in Pennsylvania and Sinclair College.
Mr. Gauden retired from the Wilmington Fire Department where he had served as Battalion Chief and Fire Marshall. He served in the U.S. Air Force and was a member of the American Legion Post 49.
Mr. Gauden is survived by three sons, Thomas H. “Doug” (Terrill Rolfe) Gauden Jr. of Wilmington, Ohio, Terry (Dea) Gauden of New Vienna, Ohio, and Kelson Gauden of Wilmington, Ohio; a daughter, Amy Tumbleson of Clarksville, Ohio; his significant other, Ronnette Norris; a stepdaughter, Shannon Norris of Port William; a sister, Laura (Mel) Morris of California; his grandchildren, Stacy (Dave) Emerson, Mick Gauden, Nick Gauden, Chrissy Sherman, Brycen Allgood, and Brendan Norris; great grandchildren, Mackinzie Miller, Mikiya Sherman, Samarra Sherman, Cale Sherman, Evelyn Gauden, and Lucy Gauden; as well as several nieces, nephews, great nieces, and great nephews. In addition to his parents, two brothers, James Gauden Jr. and George Gauden, and three sisters, Elizabeth Shaw, Virginia Shaw, and Dorothy Gauden Smith, are preceded in death.
Funeral services will be 1:00 PM, Wednesday, March 28, 2018 at Reynolds-Smith Funeral Home, 327 N. South Street, Wilmington, Ohio with Karen Schaeffer officiating. Friends may call from 10:00 AM – 1:00 PM, Wednesday, March 28, 2018 at Reynolds-Smith Funeral Home.
Burial will be in Sugar Grove Cemetery with military honors provided by the American Legion Post 49 Honor Guard.
