Virginia M. Kistner, 94, of Wilmington, Ohio died 2:20 AM, Wednesday, June 15, 2011 at Kindred Hospital, Dayton, Ohio. Her husband, Jerome D. Kistner, preceded her in death April 28, 1994. They were married October 12, 1940. Mrs. Kistner was born April 25, 1917 in Cincinnati, Ohio, daughter of the late Henry and Pauline Rudler Engler. She was a graduate of Our Lady of Angels High School in Cincinnati, Ohio.
Mrs. Kistner was a member of St. Columbkille Catholic Church where she was involved with the Sacred Heart Sodality and the Resurrection Choir. She was also a 4-H advisor for many years.
She is survived by two daughters, Doris (Isaac) Pease of Wilmington, Ohio and Julia (Michael) Blankman of Fort Wayne, Indiana; five grandchildren, R. Keith Pease, Kevin (Laura) Pease, Christopher (Cara) Pease, Jason (Leslie) Blankman, and Kathleen (Mark) Stidham; and five great grandchildren, Emmet Pease, Lila Pease, Lily Stidham, Mason Stidham, and Keenan Blankman. In addition to her husband and parents, two brothers, Leonard Engler and Giles Engler, are preceded in death.
Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:30 AM, Saturday, June 18, 2011 at St. Columbkille Catholic Church, 73 N. Mulberry Street, Wilmington, Ohio with Rev. James M. Wedig officiating. Burial will be in Gate of Heaven Cemetery. Friends may call from 9:30 AM – 10:30 AM, Saturday, June 18, 2011 at St. Columbkille Catholic Church. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial contributions be made to the Sacred Heart Sodality, c/o St. Columbkille Catholic Church or the St. Columbkille Catholic Church Memorial Fund 73 N.
