ZORA CAREY

Zora Carey, 84, of Wilmington, Ohio died 4:44 AM, Wednesday, November 23, 2011 at her residence. Her first husband, John J. Carey, preceded her in death in 1995. Her second husband, Louis F. Peters, preceded her in death in 2009. She was born August 5, 1927 in Rowan County, Kentucky, daughter of the late Alfred and Ina Cassidy Gregory. She was a graduate of Blanchester High School. She was a medical secretary for Dr. Boyd in Wilmington for over 40 years. She was a member of the Chester Friends Meeting and enjoyed playing bridge in local bridge clubs. She is survived by a daughter, Jonda Carey (Thomas) Hamilton of Wilmington, Ohio; two brothers, Wayne (Marie) Gregory of Carlisle, Ohio and James (Belva) Gregory of Blanchester, Ohio; two grandchildren, Mary Catherine Hamilton of Charlottesville, Virginia and John David Hamilton of Wilmington, Ohio; and her brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Phyllis Carey Spitler, Beverly Carey (Jack) Alkire, Dean Carey, and Ralph Elliott. In addition to her first husband, second husband, and parents, three brothers, Hollie Gregory, Vincent Gregory, and Perry Gregory, and a sister, Irene Gregory Whitacre, are preceded in death. Funeral services will be 10:30 AM, Monday, November 28, 2011 at the Reynolds-Smith Funeral Home, 327 N. South Street, Wilmington, Ohio with Mike & Nancy McCormick officiating. Burial will be in Sugar Grove Cemetery. Friends may call from 3:00 PM - 6:00 PM, Sunday, November 27, 2011 at the Reynolds-Smith Funeral Home.
