Dixie Lee (Ballard) Hodgson

Dixie Lee Hodgson, 88, of Hubbard Lake, Michigan passed away Saturday, April 6, 2024 at Hospice of Dayton.  Her husband, John Boyd Hodgson, preceded her in death.  They were married on April 14, 1956.  She was born January 29, 1936 in Beaver County, Pennsylvania, daughter of the late Patrick Lawrence Ballard and Mildred McCoy Ballard. 

Mrs. Hodgson retired after working for many years in food service as a kitchen manager and cook at a nursing home in Harrison Township, Michigan.  She enjoyed being outdoors, watching birds and wildlife, hunting, cooking, baking, and spending time with her grandchildren.

She is survived by three daughters, Patti Lynn Hodgson of Wilmington, Ohio, Sharon (Don) Farra of Clarksville, Ohio, and Elizabeth Boswell of Lincoln, Nebraska; a son, Johnathan R. (Sharon) Hodgson of Roseville, Michigan; sister, Ardie Hitt of South Heights, Pennsylvania; grandchildren, Jessica, Katherine, Justin, Becky, Emily, Johnathan, Mary, Taz, and Andrea; great-grandchildren, Jameson, Liam, Declan, Rory, Owen, and Lewis; and special friend, Gary Degan.

In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by a brother, Patrick Ballard; a sister, Sandie Reisker; and a grandson, Jack Hodgson.

A memorial service will be held 2:00 PM, Saturday, April 20, 2024 at Harvest Baptist Church, Waynesville, Ohio.
