Chester T. Strong, 71, of Blanchester, Ohio died 8:31 PM, Wednesday, March 21, 2012 at Bethesda North Hospital. His wife, Jean Black Strong, survives. They were married January 13, 1963. Mr. Strong was born February 21, 1941 in Athol, Kentucky, son of the late James Leonard Strong and Gladys Frances Terry Strong. He served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War.
Mr. Strong was contractor throughout his life and had owned Top Job Roofing. He also owned and operated the Village Diner for 5 years. He was a member of the Carpenter’s Union. He enjoyed playing pool and horseshoes. He had also raced motorcycles.
In addition to his wife, Mr. Strong is survived by two sons, Jack (Teresa) Strong of Goshen, Ohio and James (Lisa) Strong of San Diego, California; a daughter, Carol Strong of New Vienna, Ohio; a brother, Ronnie (Helen) Strong of Sardinia, Ohio; three sisters, Norma Lexine Sams of Mason, Ohio, Phyllis (Dick Clifton) Reeder of Blanchester, Ohio, and Carolann (Bob) Pautsch of Louisville, Kentucky; four grandchildren, Alisha, John, Josh, and Anthony; three great grandchildren, Emma, Autumn, and Cash; numerous nieces and nephews; and his beloved dog, Buck. In addition to his parents, two infant sons, are preceded in death.
A service will be held 7:30 PM, Monday, March 26, 2012 at the Reynolds-Smith Funeral Home, 327 N. South Street, Wilmington, Ohio. Friends may call from 5:00 PM – 7:30 PM, Monday, March 26, 2012 at the Reynolds-Smith Funeral Home.
