Delva Fay “Jackie” King, 93, of Midland, Ohio died 1:10 AM, Saturday, March 3, 2012 at Hospice of Cincinnati, Blue Ash, Ohio. Her husband, Harold King, preceded her in death July 13, 1995. They were married in 1968. Mrs. King was born July 12, 1918 in Frenchburg, Kentucky, daughter of the late Albert Pendleton Hatfield and Elizabeth Short Hatfield. She was a member of the Cuba Friends Meeting. She enjoyed quilting, baking, and making pies. Most importantly, though, she loved spending time with her family.
Mrs. King is survived by two sons, Don (Gayle) Bashaw of Lebanon, Ohio and Larry (Grace) Bashaw of Doniphan, Missouri; a daughter, Brenda (Ron) Smither of Lebanon, Ohio; 12 grandchildren; 23 great grandchildren; and four great-great grandchildren. In addition to her husband and parents, a son, Dan Bashaw, a daughter-in-law, Sandy Bashaw, and 15 brothers and sisters, are preceded in death.
Funeral services will be 11:00 AM, Saturday, March 10, 2012 at the Cuba Friends Meeting, Cuba Road, Cuba, Ohio with Doug Haag offiating. Burial will be in the Martinsville I.O.O.F. Cemetery. Friends may call from 6:00 PM – 8:00 PM, Friday, March 9, 2012 at the Reynolds-Smith Funeral Home, 327 N. South Street, Wilmington, Ohio.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to an organization of the donor’s choice.
