Edward E. “Ed” Davis Sr., 72, of New Vienna, Ohio passed away 9:10 AM, Monday, May 6, 2013 in the comfort of his home. His wife of 10 years, Mona Taulbee Davis, survives. They were married November 16, 2002. His first wife of 28 years, Carol Ann Davis preceded him in death. Mr. Davis was born June 19, 1940 in Allensburg, Ohio, son of the late Earl and Lavern Snyder Davis. He served in the U.S. Air Force.
Mr. Davis retired after 38 years with the Buckeye Molding Company. He enjoyed woodworking and antiques.
In addition to his second wife, he is survived by two sons, Mike (Ruth Ann) Liming of New Vienna, Ohio and Edward E. Davis Jr. of Wilmington, Ohio; six daughters, Sandy (Greg) Warner of Lynchburg, Ohio, Pam Liming of Tennessee, Caroline (Roy) Mercer of Largo, Florida, Melinda (Dave) Liming of Pismo, California, Sondra (Tom) Warner of Lynchburg, Ohio, and Shannon (Dwaine) Cumberland of Wilmington, Ohio; eight grandchildren, including Jeremy Dryer and Jaevin Cumberland; two great grandchildren; a stepson, Frank (Cindy) Cunningham; three step-grandchildren; four step-great-grandchildren; several nieces, nephews, and cousins; and special friends, Frank Forsythe, Bob Curtis, and Frank & Barb Jones. In addition to his first wife and parents, a brother, Doug Davis, and a sister, Inez Pindell, are preceded in death.
Funeral services will be 10:00 AM, Friday, May 10, 2013 at the New Vienna Church of Christ, 148 West Street, New Vienna, Ohio with Sidney Clay officiating. Burial will be in New Vienna Cemetery with military honors provided by the American Legion Post 49 Memorial Squad. Friends may call from 6:00 PM – 8:00 PM, Thursday, May 9, 2013 at the New Vienna Church of Christ.
