Esther Pauline Terrell, 95, formerly of 976 Johnson Road, New Vienna, Ohio and Brooke Blvd., Wilmington, Ohio died 3:45 PM, Thursday, July 4, 2013 at Autumn Years Nursing Center, Sabina, Ohio. Her husband, Lawrence Albert Terrell, preceded her in death. They were married January 30, 1938. Mrs. Terrell was born August 16, 1917, daughter of the late Gurney and Anna Rolston Adams. She was a graduate of Wayne High School in Lees Creek, Ohio.
Mrs. Terrell was a homemaker. She was an active member of Fairview Friends Meeting, Grange, 4-H Leadership, Snow Hill Garden Club, New Vienna Mother’s Club, and in 1979 she and her husband were honored by the Clinton County Agricultural Society. She was famous for her hickory nut cake which she made for her family and many friends.
Mrs. Terrell is survived by three sons, Larry L. (Rosalie) Terrell of Evans, Georgia, James Richard Terrell of Pensacola, Florida, and Kenneth Allan (Nancy) Terrell of New Vienna, Ohio; two sisters, Betty Adams Stewart and Annabel Adams (Richard) Cline; six grandchildren, Lynette (Kenneth) Raines, Lee (Chris) Knable, Beverly Terrell, Michelle Terrell, James Richard (Jennifer) Terrell Jr., and Douglas Terrell; nine great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. In addition to her husband and parents, an infant son, Gary Albert Terrell, a daughter-in-law, Sue Helton Terrell, a sister, Ruby Adams Brooks, and two brothers-in-law, Harold Stewart and Guy Brooks, are preceded in death.
A graveside will be held 10:00 AM, Tuesday, July 9, 2013 at Centerville Cemetery, Lees Creek, Ohio. Friends may call from 5:00 PM – 8:00 PM, Monday, July 8, 2013 at the Reynolds-Smith Funeral Home.
