Just beyond the golden sunrise. Just beyond this world of care. There’s a home prepared in Heaven, which God’s children soon will share. James Lee Parker, son of Earl Wayne and Elizabeth Kirby Parker, was born January 6, 1937, and for him the gates of Heaven opened at 6:49 AM, on the beautiful fall morning of October 20, 2013 at Miami Valley Hospital in Dayton, Ohio. After his marriage to Joanne Oeder on November 11, 1961 he moved to a farm near Martinsville, Ohio. To this union were born two sons, Jeffery Wayne and Jerry William Parker.
His loving family left behind are his wife, Joanne; sons, Jeffery (Susan) and Jerry (Tracy); grandchildren, Joshua, Jenna, Courtney, Jesse, and Kensey all of the Martinsville community; his sister-in-law, Helen Parker of Lebanon, Ohio; his nephews; as well as his great nieces and great nephew. He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Robert Parker.
During his final years, he enjoyed his grandchildren, evening car rides checking out the farm, and having a friendly chat with neighbors and friends who just stopped by. Jim will be greatly missed by his family and host of many friends.
Funeral services will be 10:00 AM, Friday, October 25, 2013 at the Martinsville Church of Christ, 28 W. Main Street, Martinsville, Ohio. Burial will be in the Martinsville I.O.O.F. Cemetery. Friends may call from 5:00 PM – 8:00 PM, Thursday, October 24, 2013 at the Martinsville Church of Christ.
