Kevin Ashley Lane, 38, of Wilmington, Ohio, died 1:15 AM, Sunday, November 27, 2011 as a result of an automobile accident. Mr. Lane was born April 8, 1973, in California, son of Ron Lane and Sharon Fairchild Lane, both of Wilmington, Ohio. He was a graduate of Clinton-Massie High School and attended The Ohio State University in Columbus, Ohio. Kevin was a member of the Alpha Gamma Rho fraternity at The Ohio State University.
Kevin currently was chef at Sam’s Meats in Wilmington. Formerly, he was a sous chef at Wolfgang Puck’s in Orlando, Florida and kitchen manager at Gator’s Dockside in Lakeland, Florida. He was a member of the Sharon United Methodist Church.
Mr. Lane is survived by a daughter, Morgan Ashley Lane of Ocoee, Florida; a sister, Amber (Allen) Chapa of Phoenix, Arizona; his aunts and uncles, Dick and Jane Lane, Wanda and Russ Cherryholmes, Anna Pelphrey, Lester and Pat Fairchild, Ronald and Barbara Fairchild, Larry and Rita Titus, and Joe Fairchild; a nephew, Alex; two nieces, Addison and Avery; a grandmother, Betty Lane of Wilmington, Ohio; and several cousins. He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Howard Lane, and Herbert and Glenna “Sally” Fairchild.
Funeral services will be 10:00 AM, Friday, December 2, 2011 at the Reynolds-Smith Funeral Home, 327 N. South Street, Wilmington, Ohio with Rev. Edwin Lane officiating. Burial will be in Miami Cemetery, Corwin, Ohio. Friends may call from 6:00 PM – 8:00 PM, Thursday, December 1, 2011 at the Reynolds-Smith Funeral Home.
