Lee R. Johnson, 65, of Wilmington, Ohio died 12:01 AM, Monday, November 7, 2011 at University Hospital, Cincinnati, Ohio. His wife, Peggy C. Wendt Johnson, whom he married March 19, 1976, survives. Mr. Johnson was born July 26, 1946 in Pensacola, Florida, son of the late Fred E. and Helen Mackey Johnson. He served in the U.S. Army during Vietnam and was awarded the Bronze Star.
Mr. Johnson was a C.P.A. and an owner of P.J. Accounting Services Inc. He was a member of the B.P.O. Elks 797 where he was Past Exalted Ruler and Past Activities Chairman. He was a member of the Presbyterian Church of Wilmington and a past graduate of Leadership Clinton.
In addition to his wife, Mr. Johnson is survived by a son, Tim L. Johnson of West Chester, Ohio; three daughters, Marisa R. (Steven T.) Gentry of Goshen, Ohio, Betse A. (Ben J. Weak) Johnson of Loveland, Ohio, and Ashley L. (Travis R. Hollingsworth) Johnson of Wilmington, Ohio; four brothers, Eddie (Valerie) Johnson of Granby, Missouri, Earl (Margaret) Johnson of Granby, Missouri, Robert (Terri) Johnson of Nixa, Missouri, and Wayne (Rhonda) Johnson of Broken Arrow, Oklahoma; and several nieces. In addition to his parents, a brother, Gary Johnson, is preceded in death.
A graveside service will be held 10:00 AM, Thursday, November 10, 2011 at Dayton National Cemetery, 4100 W. Third Street, Dayton, Ohio. Friends may call from 5:00 PM – 8:00 PM, Wednesday, November 9, 2011 at the Reynolds-Smith Funeral Home, 327 N. South Street, Wilmington, Ohio. An Elks service will be held at 7:30 PM, Wednesday evening.
