Robert Lee Hart Sr., 83, of Wilmington, Ohio passed 3:00 PM, Thursday, July 21, 2011 at his residence. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Nannie Hurley Hart, and his second wife, Pat Copper. Mr. Hart was born December 23, 1927 in New Market, Ohio, son of the late Winfred and Flossie Davidson Hart. He attended Wilmington Schools and served in the U.S. Army during World War II.
Mr. Hart worked for Gumley Implement in Wilmington and Shupert Implement in Sabina for many years. He was a member of Northview Baptist Church, the American Legion Post 49, and the VFW Post 6710.
Mr. Hart is survived by three sons, Eddie “Bugs” (Betty) Whitt, Robert L. (Pam) Hart Jr., Mora E. (Ginger) Hart; five daughters, Elva (Gene) Bates, Gail Stroop, Kathern Dillon, Barbara (Bill) McEvoy, and Judy (Randy) Ferguson; more than 28 grandchildren; more than 16 great grandchildren and great-great grandchildren; a sister-in-law, Nora Hart; four nieces, Tammy, Kim, Tracey, and Lisa; and two nephews, David and Dwayne.
In addition to his first wife, second wife, and parents, he was preceded in death by two sons-in-law, John Dillon and Henry Stroop; a brother, David Hart; a sister, Anna Orndorff; a grandson, Rickey Whitt; three infant grandchildren; and two great grandchildren, Ryan Jordan and Tyfannie Edwards.
Funeral services will be 11:00 AM, Monday, July 25, 2011 at the Reynolds-Smith Funeral Home, 327 N. South Street, Wilmington, Ohio. Burial will be in Clinton County Memory Gardens. Friends may call from 3:00 PM – 6:00 PM, Sunday, July 24, 2011 at the Reynolds-Smith Funeral Home.
