Ruby May Irvine Daniels, 89, a long time, former resident of Wilmington, Ohio passed away 6:34 PM, Friday, January 11, 2013 at St. Elizabeth's Hospice House in Edgewood, Kentucky. Her husband, Maury Daniels, preceded her in death June 6, 2003. They were married March 25, 1944. Mrs. Daniels was born December 14, 1923 in Meeker, Ohio, daughter of the late Ransom D. and Leona M. Solomon Irvine. She was a 1942 graduate of Harding High School in Marion, Ohio. Ruby was an active member of the Wilmington Church of Christ. She formerly volunteered at Wilmington Care Center. She was a member of the Wilmington Homemaker's Club and the Lions Club Auxiliary. Ruby loved to write poems and enjoyed Bible study. She also liked to paint oil landscapes for her family and friends. She is survived by two daughters, Linda (Mel) Gordy of Homosassa, Florida and Lee Ann (Ted) Denman of Edgewood, Kentucky; a son, Dan (Chrissy) Daniels of Washington Court House, Ohio; a sister, Wanda (Jim) Haynie of Alpharetta, Georgia; four grandchildren, Kathy Denman (Jim) Darpel, Misty Denman (Jamie) Lawrence, Kelsey Daniels, and Trevor Daniels; five great grandchildren, Mason Lawrence, Owen Lawrence, Kylee Lawrence, Madeline Darpel, and Miranda Darpel; a sister-in-law, Garnet Daniels Hochstetter of Orangeburg, South Carolina; nieces, Patty Sykes of Alpharetta, Georgia, Eleanor White of Alpharetta, Georgia, and Cheryl (Alan) Ivers of Orangeburg, South Carolina; as well as many other nieces and nephews. In addition to her husband and parents, two brothers, Donald Irvine and John Irvine, are preceded in death. Funeral services will be 1:00 PM, Friday, January 18, 2013 at the Reynolds-Smith Funeral Home, 327 N. South Street, Wilmington, Ohio with Dale McCamish officiating. Burial will be in Sugar Grove Cemetery. Friends may call from 11:00 AM - 1:00 PM, Friday, January 18, 2013 at the Reynolds-Smith Funeral Home. Following the interment, a reception for friends and family will be held at the Wilmington Church of Christ, 909 W. Locust Street, Wilmington, Ohio.
