Stephen W. “Chewy” Gregory, 57, of New Vienna, Ohio died 4:40 PM, Saturday, October 8, 2011 at his home surrounded by his family after he lost the battle with Parkinson’s. He is survived by his wife, Carol Diane Teboe Gregory. He was born October 6, 1954 in Highland County, Ohio, son of Alice Cade of Wilmington, Ohio and the late Wayne Gregory. He was the proud stepson of the late Charles Cade, whom he called Dad.
Chewy, as he was affectionately known by his friends and co-workers, was employed by ABX / DHL for over 20 years. He had many good times there and left plenty of stories. Steve was an avid outdoorsman. He loved to be outside and enjoyed working in his yard and flower gardens. He loved camping, hiking, and spending time with his family. He will be greatly missed by all.
In addition to his wife and mother, he is survived by his daughters, Kristen (German) Benitez of Sabina, Ohio, Stephenie Gregory of Wilmington, Ohio, Allison Teboe of Wilmington, Ohio, and Amanda Teboe of Wilmington, Ohio; a brother, John Gregory of Edgewood, Kentucky; his sisters, Sheila (Butch Rudduck) West of Sabina, Ohio and Mary (Jeremy) Johnson of Wilmington, Ohio; his grandchildren, Adriana Benitez, Aidan Benitez, Alexa Benitez, Jacada Jackson, and Erinee Hefner; as well as several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Funeral services will be 11:00 AM, Thursday, October 13, 2011 at the Reynolds-Smith Funeral Home, 327 N. South Street, Wilmington, Ohio with Russell Lieb officiating. Burial will be in New Vienna I.O.O.F. Cemetery. Friends may call from 5:00 PM – 8:00 PM, Wednesday, October 12, 2011 at the Reynolds-Smith Funeral Home.
