Stanley Blum Obituary

Stanley Blum, 96, of Wilmington, Ohio passed away Monday, April 1, 2024 at Venetian Gardens in Loveland, Ohio.  His wife, Louise Blum, preceded him in death February 25, 2007.  They were married on September 2, 1961.  He was born December 6, 1927 in New York, New York, son of the late Abraham and Yetta Farbman Blum.

Mr. Blum served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War.  He received his bachelor’s degree from Davis and Elkins College in West Virginia.  Stanley worked as an electrical engineer throughout his career and eventually retired from Wright Patterson Air Force Base.  He was a member of the American Society of Professional Engineers and a lifetime member of the American Legion.  Stanley enjoyed genealogy and watching sports.

He is survived by children, Mark (Aileen) Ankrom of Stone Mountain, Georgia, Matthew (Diane) Ankrom of Wilmington, Ohio, Martha (Dan Gibson) Ankrom of Industry, Texas, David Blum of Galloway, Ohio, and Elizabeth (Donald) Appelmann of Kentland, Indiana; 11 grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.

In addition to his wife and parents, he was preceded in death by his twin brother, Lawrence Blum, and his sister, Marilyn Robbins.

A graveside service will be held 12:30 PM, Friday, April 5, 2024 at Sugar Grove Cemetery in Wilmington, Ohio.
