Elma I. Botts Reynolds Rosell, 83, of Wilmington, Ohio went to be with her Lord 3:40 PM, Tuesday, May 1, 2012 surrounded by her loving family. Her husband, Robert Reynolds, preceded her in death. She was born January 10, 1929 in Clinton County, Ohio, daughter of the late Elon Botts Sr. and Olive Foster Botts. She graduated from 8th grade at New Antioch School. She then attended Wilmington High School for two years, and then Osborn High School, before graduating from Fort Myers High School in Florida.
Elma retired from a career in civil service after working at the Clinton County Air Force Base, Wright Patterson Air Force Base, and Eglin Air Force Base. She also spent five years in Germany and Korea working for the civil service. Elma was a devout Christian who became part of a church and community wherever she lived. She was always a choir member and mentor. After returning to Wilmington, she became a member of Bible Baptist Church. Her friendship was extended to everyone she met. She was widely traveled in the United States and from London to the Holy Land and from Korea to Japan.
Elma is survived by two brothers, Elon (Eva) Botts Jr. of Wilmington, Ohio and Paul (Pam) Botts of Fairborn, Ohio; a sister, Mary Alice (William) McConnell of Wilmington, Ohio; a brother-in-law, Jean Reynolds of Franklin, Ohio; two sisters-in-law, Bessie Gustin of Franklin, Ohio and Katie Reynolds of Franklin, Ohio; her nieces, whom she loved to mother, Joy (John) Ames of Wilmington, Ohio, Sharon (Mark) Dome of Wilmington, Ohio, Brenda (Neil) Hinz of Noblesville, Indiana, and Cathy (Dan) Rowley of Brunswick, Ohio; as well as several great nieces, great nephews, great-great nieces, and great-great nephews.
Funeral services will be 11:00 AM, Saturday, May 5, 2012 at the Reynolds-Smith Funeral Home, 327 N. South Street, Wilmington, Ohio. Burial will be in Woodhill Cemetery, Franklin, Ohio. Friends may call from 10:00 AM – 11:00 AM, Saturday, May 5, 2012 at the Reynolds-Smith Funeral Home.
