Jean S. Richardson, 90, of Wilmington, Ohio went to be with the Lord at 4:34 PM, Sunday, May 20, 2012 at her residence. She was preceded in death by her husbands, Walter S. King and Horace “Pappy” Richardson. She was born February 22, 1922 in Vernon Township, Clinton County, Ohio, daughter of the late H.L. and Mary Emily Sewell.
She was a life-long resident of Clinton County and a 1940 graduate of Martinsville High School. She attended Martinsville Friends Church as well as Villars Chapel United Methodist Church. She held the office of Clinton County Recorder for 36 years. Jean served as Worthy Matron and several Star Points for both Martinsville Order of the Eastern Star and Blanchester OES. She was also an active member and treasurer of the George Clinton Chapter Daughters of the American Revolution and the Robert Boling Chapter Daughters of the American Colonists.
She is survived by her daughter, Sandra K. (Ron) Wilt of Wilmington, Ohio; three grandchildren, Michael Walter (JoAnn) Bartram of Wilmington, Ohio, Melissa Lynn (Chuck) Rich of Blanchester, Ohio, Melinda Dawn (Kevin) Rose of Wilmington, Ohio; five great-grandchildren, Megan Christine Rich, Kaitlin Denise Rich, Austin Russell Schneder, Dylan Michael Rose, and Brooke Hadley Rose; two sisters, Jacquelyn Ann (Robert) Ballinger of Blanchester, Ohio, Ardith June Short of Martinsville, Ohio; a brother Horace Neil (Ruth) Sewell of Inverness, Florida; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be 10:30 AM, Wednesday, May 23, 2012 at the Reynolds-Smith Funeral Home, 327 N. South Street, Wilmington, Ohio with Rev. Harold Utley officiating. Burial will be in Sugar Grove Cemetery. Friends may call from 5:00 PM – 8:00 PM, Tuesday, May 22, 2012 at the Reynolds-Smith Funeral Home.
