John Scott Wallace, 66, of Wilmington, Ohio died 11:30 PM, Thursday, October 18, 2012 at his residence. His wife, Carolyn Snell Wallace, whom he married December 26, 1967, survives. Mr. Wallace was born January 10, 1946 in Clinton County, Ohio, son of the late Robert and Ruth Ann Wallace. He was a graduate of Wilmington High School. He served three years in the U.S. Army and then retired from the Ohio National Guard after 20 years of service.
Mr. Wallace worked for and retired from Cincinnati Milacron / Siemens. After retirement he worked at the Equipment Superstore. Mr. Wallace was also a lifelong farmer.
In addition to his wife, Mr. Wallace is survived by two daughters, Johnda (Jimmy) Surharski of Wilmington, Ohio and Melissa “Motor” (Dave) Wical of Wilmington, Ohio; a sister, Carol (John) Gibson of Jackson, Tennessee; two grandchildren, Nathaniel Spurlock and Shea Spurlock; several nieces and nephews; and his special dog, Larry Dare. In addition to his parents, a brother and sister-in-law, Albert & Helen Wallace, and two sisters and a brother-in-law, Jenny & Bill Newman and Phyllis Wallace, are preceded in death.
Funeral services will be 2:00 PM, Friday, October 26, 2012 at the Reynolds-Smith Funeral Home, 327 N. South Street, Wilmington, Ohio. Friends may call from 12:00 Noon – 2:00 PM, Friday, October 26, 2012 at the Reynolds-Smith Funeral Home.
