Phillip Earl Singleton, 73, of Wilmington, Ohio passed away 12:52 PM, Monday, January 2, 2012 at Clinton Memorial Hospital. His wife, Barbara Bath Singleton, survives. They were married October 10, 1981 in Sharonville, Ohio. Mr. Singleton was born March 13, 1938 in Henry County, Kentucky, son of the late Ross and Willana Lowden Singleton. He spent most of his life in Cincinnati after moving there with his parents.
Mr. Singleton was a partner of the Carter’s Restaurants for 16 years and also worked at Technical Services Inc. before starting his own heating and air conditioning business. After retiring in 1996, he moved to Wilmington, Ohio. Phillip was an avid pilot who loved flying his plane as well as boating on the Ohio River. He enjoyed extensive traveling and the nature he found in his own back yard. Most of his treasured memories involved family.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by his two daughters from his first marriage, Kim (Miriam Davidson) Singleton and Rebecca (Ron) Costello; a sister, Mary Ann Ladd; seven grandchildren, Benjamin Filio, Clark Filio, Elayne Filio, Jakob Costello, Janston Costello, Jesse Costello, and Jordon Costello; and two great grandchildren, Jayla Costello and Lucia Costello.
Mr. Singleton will be cremated. Friends may call from 4:00 PM – 6:00 PM, Friday, January 6, 2012 at the Reynolds-Smith Funeral Home, 327 N. South Street, Wilmington, Ohio. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial contributions be made to the Wilmington Firefighters, 2415 Rombach Avenue, Wilmington, Ohio 45177.
