Wanda V. Collins, 90, of Wilmington, Ohio died peacefully at 8:11 PM, Monday, November 11, 2013 at Clermont Mercy Hospital, Batavia, Ohio with her family beside her. Her husband, Frank Collins, preceded her in death. They were married September 20, 1958. Mrs. Collins was born August 30, 1923 in Reesville, Ohio, daughter of the late Gurney and Grace Wallace Wertz.
She was a loving mother, grandmother, and great grandmother. Wanda enjoyed the simple pleasures of life including being with her granddaughters and great grandsons. She was a homemaker all of her life. She liked to do crossword puzzles and needlepoint. She dearly loved to write letters and cards to her friends. During her life she was a person who always liked to help others when she could. The family would like to thank Ann Myers of Wilmington who was a very special friend since childhood. Suzanne Driscoll of Zanesville was another wonderful friend who she wrote to for over 20 years. Additionally, the family would like to thank Dr. John Hollon and Dr. Evan Lang for all their help and support through the years.
She is survived by a son, Roy Edward (Nancy) Earley of Wilmington, Ohio; a brother, Charles (Bonnie) Wertz of Wilmington, Ohio; a sister, Charlotte Christophel of Florida; two granddaughters, Lisa Brown of Lexington, Ohio and Amanda (Greg) Golsch of Cleves, Ohio; and two great grandsons, Drake Pence and Dane Golsch.
Services will be 2:00 PM, Friday, November 15, 2013 at the Reynolds-Smith Funeral Home, 327 N. South Street, Wilmington, Ohio with Rev. Dr. Tom Stephenson officiating. Burial will be in Clinton County Memory Gardens. Friends may call from 1:00 PM – 2:00 PM, Friday, November 15, 2013 at the Reynolds-Smith Funeral Home.
