William E. Madison died on April 4, 2013 at the age of 79, in Quaker Heights Care Facility.
He is survived by his wife, Suzanne Harvey Madison, and children, Mark (Brenda) Madison and Melissa (Scott) McCrea. He was preceded in death by his parents, Hannah and Deanne Madison, and his brother, Dr. James (Joan) Madison. Mr. Madison was born in Altoona, Pa. He graduated from the University of Rochester and entered the U.S. Navy where he served as a Naval aviator. After active duty, he completed his MBA at Columbia University.
He moved to Cincinnati where he joined Proctor and Gamble and later the Xerox Corporation in Rochester, N.Y. He retired in Los Angeles as director of transportation, Western region.
He continued his Naval service in the reserves, where he rose to the rank of captain.
Following retirement, he moved to Florida where he enjoyed gardening, reading, traveling, and volunteering at the Tampa Bay Performing Arts Center and as a SCORE counselor.
In 2008, he and his wife moved to the Cape May Retirement Community in Wilmington, where he enjoyed gardening and reading. He loved good food, good music, and analyzing the stock market. He was a loving husband, father and uncle and a strong role model to all.
A memorial service will be held 10:30 AM, Saturday, April 27, 2013 at the Wilmington United Methodist Church, 50 E. Locust Street, Wilmington, Ohio with Rev. Dean Feldmeyer officiating. Interment will follow in Clarksville Cemetery with military honors provided by the U.S. Navy. Friends may call from 10:00 AM – 10:30 AM, Saturday, April 27, 2013 at the Wilmington United Methodist Church.
