William L. Hilterbran, 92, of Waynesville, Ohio (formerly of Wilmington, Ohio) died 1:40 AM, Thursday, January 13, 2011 at Quaker Heights Care Community, Waynesville, Ohio. His wife, Pauline Hilterbran, preceded him in death in 1988. Mr. Hilterbran was born May 22, 1918, in Adams County, Ohio, son of the late Orley and Agnes Colvin Hilterbran.
Mr. Hilterbran was a lifelong farmer but had also worked at Irwin Auger Bit. He retired from Clinton-Massie High School where he worked as the custodian. He was a former member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles 1224. He was a kind and wonderful man. He dedicated many years to taking care of his wife and later his companion, Josephine.
Mr. Hilterbran is survived by a sister, Ethel Evans of Wilmington, Ohio; two stepgrandsons, Tim Gregory and Randy Gregory; and his longtime caregiver, Dina Tolliver of Wilmington, Ohio. In addition to his wife and parents, he was preceded in death by a stepson, Tom Gregory; two brothers, Lester Hilterbran and Richard Hilterbran; his twin brother, John Hilterbran; a sister, Alma Overslicke; a special companion, Josephine Babb,; and several stepbrothers and stepsisters.
Funeral services will be 2:00 PM, Monday, January 17, 2011 at the Reynolds-Smith Funeral Home, 327 N. South Street, Wilmington, Ohio. Burial will be in Lynchburg Masonic Cemetery.
