Helen Kay Cummings, 73, of Port William, Ohio passed away in her sleep Tuesday, April 29, 2014 to be reunited with her loved ones and her Lord and Savior. Her husband, Charles Rodger Cummings, preceded her in death August 12, 2003. They were married August 10, 1964. Mrs. Cummings was born January 12, 1941 in Iowa, daughter of the late Robert Nichols and Margaret Neil Nichols. She was a member of the Port William United Methodist Church. She was a former Sunday school teacher and assisted with various church functions.
Mrs. Cummings is survived by four children, LeRoy Vincent (Mary) Cummings of Springboro, Ohio, Tamara Kaye (Paul) Thompson of Wilmington, Ohio, Margaret Anne “Peggy” (Ray) Evans of Port William, Ohio, and Charles Robert Cummings of Port William, Ohio; a sister-in-law, Patricia Nichols of West Branson, Missouri; 11 grandchildren, Charles, Dereck, Scott, Dustin, Brian, Chris, Justin, Vanessa, V.W., Robert, and Rodger; five step grandchildren; two great grandchildren; 14 step great grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
In addition to her husband and parents, her stepmother, Maureene Nichols, and two brothers, Donald Nichols and Dean Nichols, are preceded in death.
Funeral services will be 2:00 PM, Monday, May 5, 2014 at the Reynolds-Smith Funeral Home, 327 N. South Street, Wilmington, Ohio with Rex Robinson officiating. Burial will be in Clinton County Memory Gardens. Friends may call from 12:00 Noon – 2:00 PM, Monday, May 5, 2014 at the Reynolds-Smith Funeral Home.
